FAQs

When and where do sessions take place?

Outdoor sessions take place up to 90 minutes before sunset at that special time we call "golden hour". This is what gives my images their golden, even tones and makes the colours deep and rich. If you have very young children you may want to book either side of the summer months as sunset can, of course, be very late (or, I can give you some tips as to how to make it work).

For location, you can choose a place that has special meaning to you, or I have a range of gorgeous spots that I can suggest, which I know will give you great light and beautiful scenery.

How many weeks should I be for a maternity session?

Around 30 - 34 weeks is ideal - when you have a beautiful bump to show!

Can we include Grandparents?

Yes! My family session fee is for up to 10 people (but more can be added for a small cost).

You can also bring along the dog (in fact, I encourage it!!)

What should we wear?

Neutral colours, earthy tones or pastels tend to look fabulous in the natural environment, as do textures and accessories. Skirts and dresses add some movement and look gorgeous on the ladies. Bare feet is best for the beach!

Avoid large logos, distracting patterns and loud sports wear. Try to avoid too much black. For the group, think complimentary outfits - not matching!

What's most important is that you feel great in what you're wearing, but if you need some inspiration, please contact me and I'll send you a link to to some ideas...

We feel awkward in front of the camera...

Let's face it - not many people do feel comfortable in the front of the camera! But I pride myself on being able to make the session fun and relaxing as possible, and this is the feedback that I most regularly receive. So don't panic! I'll give you some gentle guidance, but it's mostly about you enjoying yourselves and it's my job to capture the right moments.

What if it looks like rain?

I will call you the day before, or the morning of, your session to do a "weather check" and confirm our time and meeting place. If we both agree the weather is unfavourable, we simply postone to the next available dates.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions fees start from $150 and are non-refundable. This covers planning for and carrying out your session, and a viewing session at my studio where you view and purchase the images.

There are a range of products to choose from including matted prints, framed fine art prints, canvases, beautiful albums and digital packages. (Please contact me for details).

Clients typically spend between $850 and $3000 to receive a range of images and products.

How do we book?

Contact me for a full price list. If you are keen to proceed, I'll email you an online booking form/contract and an invoice for the session fee. These secure your date and fix your price list.

(Please note that the session fee is non-refundable).

How do we get our photos?

I'll advise you when your gallery is ready, then we make a time for you to come to my home, to view and choose your images and products. There's no hard sell - it's a low key session (more of a chat really) where I can show you options for your images that may not have seen before and answer any questions about your gallery.

Once you have chosen, high resolution digital files will be uploaded to a password protected online gallery for your to download, and printed items can be collected from my home, once they are ready (or shipped with costs).

What if we need to postpone?

Please give me a much notice as possible (at least 48 hours) so that I can fill your spot if possible.

(Please be aware that prices maybe subject to change if the session is postponed 4 weeks beyond the original session date and the price list has been updated since your booking).
